EXPERIENCES WITH ME
"Chase Vaughan has been an influence to me ever since the first day I met him at a coaches’ meeting my freshman year at South Burlington High. I instantly felt comfortable around him, and that only grew to lead to a bond and connection I still feel today. As a freshman lacrosse player, Chase was my coach. I had only played one year prior to that, and Chase taught me the simple techniques I needed to know, followed by the more advanced systems once he thought our team was ready. Chase always knew the fine line between having fun and being serious. He was fresh enough out of the game and clever enough to have personal connections with every member on the team. As a fierce competitor, he was an amazing role model to have on the sidelines with us. He knew how to make mid game adjustments, and won the hearts of everyone on the team, including parents and community spectators. Chase continued to help me grow individually, always offering tips, even when he didn’t need to. After Chase left our town, we ended up playing him in a pre-season scrimmage, as an opposing coach. Even as a member of the other team, he was still extremely successful and professional working his sidelines. After the game he came right over to us and we all got to catch up with him. I am now continuing my career playing college lacrosse, an accomplishment I know would not be possible had it not been for the works and help of Chase Vaughan. He still reaches out to me all the time to see how I am doing, offering his help whenever I am in need.
Chase as a man and an individual I can only see as going up in this world. I have never met anyone who can’t trust him, or anyone who lacks respect for him. He is an incredibly hard working man who deserves at least one shot at any goal he wishes to pursue, a shot I know he will take advantage of and take off running with it. I will put my word on the fact that if he is given a opportunity, he will take full advantage of it and never look back."

My first three years a varsity lacrosse player were some of the best years of my sporting career; however, this past season was no doubt the best of all. Achieving greatness was always part of my mindset, but I had not learned how to do so until this past season. As an incredible coach, person and most of all, incredible teacher, Chase brought my game to new heights. As an avid contributor to our defensive success, Chase also constantly engaged with the offense, not only drawing up new plays, but developing players into offensive threats who otherwise would have sat on the bench for the entirety of the season. With Chase's sense of leadership, knowledge, and overall character, he brings a certain edge to the table that makes you better. His sick sense for success is clearly not something he just brings to lacrosse, but to everything he chases after, including his company. The passion he carries on and off the field still amazes me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor than him. I learned what it takes to be the best whether that be on the field, in school, or going after a job I might want in the future. Unknowingly, Chase’s raw talent is his ability to take something, whether that be a person or something else, and finding the place they fit in best. Chase doesn’t boost your ego, nor does he tell you what you are doing wrong, rather he restructures you to become a fearless leader who accepts nothing less than winning. He doesn’t settle for average, and he most certainly does not settle for anything that is given less than 100%. It doesn’t matter if you are the best on the field, or the smartest in the classroom, Chase will beat you out with his sheer determination to be better than you. Having him as a coach was incredible and I cherish every last bit of knowledge I was able to get from him. Anyone would be lucky to work with someone like Chase.

"Coach Vaughan has helped me progress as a player, and as young man. He focuses on what needs to be done, and strives to achieve his goals for the staff and the team. I have improved as a player both mentally and physically from working with Coach Vaughan. He has taught me that if you take things seriously, and put everything you have into it, you can accomplish whatever is is both on, or off the field. He has supported and helped me become a better person in every way."

"I met Chase my freshman year at South Burlington High. I couldn't tell you the amount of valuable lessons, and wise advice Chase has provided me growing up. His personality allowed for easy learning, and his teaching style was adaptable to anyone. In the years he coached us, we went undefeated and held teams scoreless in 16 games. Chase’s drive to succeed and his passion to influence me to work my hardest showed every day. Countless times he has put us before himself as his only goal was help us achieve ours. Chase’s influence allowed me to attain personal goals and as I look back he is a clear component to why I developed into the young man that I did."

“Since coming into my life four years ago Chase Vaughan's effect on me has been immeasurable. Sadly he was was only my coach for a one season as I was a freshman who made the varsity squad, he has had a major long lasting impact on me. As a mentor, he has maintained a commitment to me as both a player, and a person. We talk with each other weekly, and he’s been able to give me advice on school, relationships, and truly any important decisions I’ve made in my life. As a lacrosse coach, he’s one of the most innovative minds I’ve come across and is extremely dedicated to his relentless pursuit of winning and developing boys into young men. Buying stock in Chase Vaughan is one of the best things any program can do for their players. He’s become my mentor and I’m very thankful for everything he’s done for me, as a player and as a young man.”

EXPERIENCES WITH ME
"Chase Vaughan, or coach as I call him, has been one of the most influential people in my life. As a coach he has helped turn myself into determined athlete who has been praised for his achievements on the field. As a friend and mentor, he has taken me from a young high school student, and turned me into young man who now has the abilities to succeed in life and accomplish anything I set my mind on doing. I'm not sure where I would be had it not been for his guidance and knowledge, but I am sure that I have been extremely fortunate to have known him."

"My sophomore year I tried out for the Varsity lacrosse team after already playing Varsity hockey the season before, and like any teenager, I was incredibly nervous. Being a quieter person, Coach Vaughan noticed that in me, and from the first day wanted to break me out of my shell. I remember Coach came right up and joked around with me about being a hockey player, and how I couldn't catch the ball with my hand anymore. From that moment I knew that this guy was going to be a positive influence in my life. Since my time on the team, Vaughan has been a great role model, and a fantastic coach to have. This year, which is my junior year, I have really bonded with Chase, and continue to look to him as a teacher. He is a great leader who has helped me become a more focused person."

"Chase Vaughan has been my lacrosse coach since I started high school last year. As a coach he is fun, energetic, and truly cares about the wellbeing of the players. He has taught me how to work hard, be passionate, and commit to achieving my goals. I can tell that he loves working with us, and more importantly the game. He is one of the most dedicated coaches I've had in my lacrosse career. I can tell that in no matter what he does, he will always give 110%. That's the kind of role model he is. Along with his dedication he also knows how to relate to people, and my teammates and I treat him as one of the guys. I know that he has my back no matter what, and I will always appreciate him for that."

Throughout the 2018 lacrosse season I quickly realized the importance of good coaching over the talent of players. According to my teammates and I on day one, we thought Chase Vaughan was to be our defensive coach. However, he spread his ideas through all aspects of the game and elevated our team’s strength to a level we did not think was possible. At the beginning of the season we knew we were going to be good, but there we some questions on defense. Those questions were quickly answered by Coach Vaughan due to our ability to grow into the best and most clutch Defenses in the state. Coach Vaughan also quickly looked to the improvement of the offense and clearing/riding the ball. The ride installed was a dominant force and a game changer throughout the season. The offensive ideas helped each player play to their strengths and when executed they truly became unstoppable. Coach Vaughan never came unprepared to a practice or game and always had ideas on how to defeat the next challenger. His energy in practice drove everybody to play their hardest while always having a smile on their face. It was very apparent that he had one goal only (a championship), and every move he made helped us come closer to trying to achieve that goal. His age and personality allowed him to become even more closely bonded with his players, making it easy to call him coach as well as friend. I loved having Chase Vaughan as a coach due to his personality and determination and I know he will eventually achieve his goal of a championship.

Chase has taught me more about being a better person than how to be a great lacrosse player. When I first heard we were bringing in a new defensive coach, I was pumped, but I had no idea what to expect. The first day I met him, he started yelling at me, but we then developed a great relationship throughout the season. I didn’t think it was possible to create that good of a relationship with a coach. Towards the end of the year, he started feeling like an older brother rather than a High school lacrosse coach, and because of that, he was a huge role model for me, and I could not be more appreciative that he was with us this past season.

Coach Chase Vaughan has been a massive contributor to our team’s growth and my individual growth as a lacrosse player. So much was accomplished last season as we won the Tri-Valley League for the first time ever while having the program’s first victories against our rivals Medfield and Dover-Sherborn. I am certain that these accomplishments would not have been possible if coach Chase was not apart of our team. His knowledge of lacrosse allowed us to create effective game plans and defeat some of the top teams in the state. Moreover, he completely took charge of the defense and helped them to become a strong part of our team. He personally helped me grow by motivating me to be a better lacrosse player. His enthusiasm for the game pushed myself and the rest of the team to work harder and remain focused.
